Among this group of current drinkers almost 25% admitted to have indulged in binge drinking ( five or more drinks during any 24 hour period ). Of those aged 18-25 the number of binge drinkers increased to more than 40%.

Many of my students say that, “only alcoholics are heavy drinkers” . They think that “street people” and “bums” are typical alcoholics. Many people have a mental picture that all alcoholics are “complete losers.” This is not the case at all. People who abuse alcohol run the gamut, from corporate CEOs, teachers, lawyers, firemen. You name it. There is no class or profession where alcoholism does not exist.

Heavy drinking is binge drinking 5 or more times in a single month. Many of my students, especially those under 25, were shocked to learn that they have habitually engaged in binge drinking, and that this behavior is abusing alcohol, regardless of your age.

There is not a student that cannot relate to the topics at hand. Recognizing and admitting there could be a problem can be the toughest challenge people who consume alcohol face. When Is The Ideal Time For Exercise

We often see people exercising at various times and wonder if it’s the right time. If you have a regular work out schedule you know how difficult it can be to find time in your busy schedule. We’re sure many have tried to optimize their workout schedule and wondered if it was doing more harm than good to do off hour work outs. No, you aren’t causing any harm to your body with off hour workouts, but you may be depriving yourself of much needed sleep. If you have your routine down, then you already know your body has adjusted to the time of your fitness routine. No matter what the researchers say about it the fact is you have to work with what works for your life. There are however many considerations you should think about when choosing the best time to exercise and how long does it take to get in shape.

An idea as to time of day that works is the benefit to the person. Many enjoy a break time walk or lunch time fitness routine. If you can take a break when you want, then that becomes even more convenient for you. Your body becomes better able to respond to exercise as the day progresses. It also tends to follow that if your body prefers fitness activity later in the day, as opposed to early morning, then your mind will be more at ease for it.

If you think a morning routine might be your thing but you haven’t tried it yet, consider this information. The reality is that our bodies are capable of adapting the circadian or internal rhythm clocks to whatever schedule is necessary to meet our needs. It can take a bit of time but not too long. Be patient, that’s the only thing you can do. Your own body internal clock will become “set” to exercise early in the morning, and you will be fine with it soon.
